I am one of the oldest fruits known to humankind - born where the sun is fiercest and the land is spare. I grow in the arid deserts of Rajasthan, where somehow, against all odds, I emerge deeply sweet. For centuries I have been nature's original energy food - a handful of me has carried travellers across deserts and nourished families through long fasts. Rich in natural sugars, fibre, and minerals, I am the sweetness that needs nothing added.
